6”x 13” six ply maple shell with six bubinga wood dowels drilled and set into it. This was done too bring up the pitch somewhat. I had seen this done years before and I gave it a try. The dowel edges are covered by the distressed engraved steel plates. The hoops and lugs have been stripped of their chrome and have a flat patina finish, a Nickel strainer and Tama buttplate with Puresound snares complete the drum. The steel plates have been engraved with the name Ben so if thats you name then even better ( Ben is a coworker of mine) the picture of the sleeping co worker is not him but his new workshirt is a great color match for this drum.
