Powered 9U / 84HP Solid Wood Euro Case

Eurorack case made of solid paulownia wood with a walnut stain in a 9U / 84HP format totaling 252 HP. If you’re after a case that feels more like furniture than something you made in your shed out of plywood, this is it. I ordered this cabinet directly from Istvan at Uryan Modular in Hungary in late 2022, and it served me well as my main case until I expanded into a much larger cabinet from the same maker. This worked perfectly as a side rack for a full ALM loadout and then as an expanded Moog Sound Studio case. Tons of room for growth if you're just starting out in modular or if you're looking for a sidecar to another case. After a bit of downsizing this has been sitting in storage and it's time to move it on.

Threaded inserts and knurly friendly. Loads of power headers (20 for each row) so you’ll never need a flying bus board and the depth is more than enough for the chunkiest of modules. Note the double power supplies - sorta overkill for a case this size but they leave a lot of breathing room so you won’t hit a wall on power needs, very important! They‘ve delivered clean and non-noisy power for me in use.

Overall footprint is 18” wide by 14” deep and measures 16” tall. The cabinet’s physical build is a little tight and I was unable to fit a full 84HP of modules in the center row. Rather than reduce structural integrity by unscrewing one side, I carefully carved a millimeter off the inside face and then finished it with tung oil to protect the bare wood and somewhat match the walnut stain. While empty this modification is obvious, but when full of modules it’s basically invisible. This was the first year of Uryan making euro cases, no harm no foul, it still looks great and functions perfectly. There is a small scrape on the top panel but it’s only visible in certain light and doesn’t breach the finish. The four rubber feet sit perfectly flat so no wobbly patching here. The two vent holes in the back are just big enough to slip a USB cable through if you need to make a connection to a module from outside the rack.
