Golden Age EQ81 Series EQ Modification Service

A good EQ stock the EQ81 series EQs takes the classic Neve EQ into standalone mode, offering all of the great inductor EQ sound in a standalone box to use with any preamp.

Budget friendly by nature the eq is musical but has a bit higher noise floor and sounds dull, flat and a bit smeared which is where our modification service comes into the picture.

  
Modifications:

On these We do a complete audio path upgrade using premium parts for lower noise and higher headroom as well as lower distortion.

All Audio caps are swapped out for better performance using Panasonic Parts and various noise reduction techniques.

Values are adjusted throughout for the best possible audio response, lower noise and better fidelity. 

The internal DC supply is further modified for longer life, better current delivery, lower AC ripple.

Bypassing is performed where necessary for lower noise in the power supply and certain values are adjusted to more closely reflect the original design.

All Transistors are removed and lower noise higher Gain HFE transistors are installed for better clarity, headroom and bandwidth while providing lower distortion.

Lastly High-Performance Burr Brown opamps are installed for the I/O section for better headroom, bandwidth and detail for a professional audio experience from the design.
