Eastman VB200-GR Fully Carved 3/4 Upright Double Bass

Fully carved 3/4 VB200-GR made in 2006. Spruce top, hardwood round back & sides, Rubner clover leaf brass plate tuning machines, adjustable bridge. The original tuners have been replaced with authentic Rubner tuners. I'm a Rubner guy and prefer clover style tuners over the ping-pong paddle style the bass came with plus one was bent. I installed them myself and the Rubner sticker is still on the backplate of one of them. The tuners have some wear but they are authentic Rubners and turn as smooth as you'd expect Rubner tuners to turn. I can include the original Chinese made Rubner style tuners if you'd like them as I have no use for them.

The bass has a D neck with a solid fingerboard. The setup is good and the bass is very easy to play. It sounds as you'd expect a carved Eastman to sound.

This is a fully carved bass and not a hybrid as they moved to in recent years. Unfortunately the side are paper thin and were cracked when I got it. These cracks don't affect the sound or rattle. They could be repaired but for my use I didn't need to get that deep into this thing. There is minimal belt rash on the upper E bout. No cracks on the front or back, and the edges are all solid with no damage or seperations.

I bought this bass in 2022 to use for gigs and at jazz jams I run. I used it for about a year before buying another bass to use (I prefer an Eb neck). Since then the bass has mostly been sitting in the closet. I need the room so it's time to sell it.

The bass is for local pickup in the SF area and would consider delivery along I-40 between LA and Arkansas for an additional $200.

The bass is sold as is and has no bag, no bow, no pickup, and no stand.
