Vintage RARER 1980's Shure BETA 58 / SM58 dynamic cardioid microphone USA Low Z w accessories SM58 # 3

  You are looking at a classic Shure Brothers dynamic cardioid microphones from the late 1980's / early to mid 90's that has been cleaned and tested. This is the earlier American made Beta 58 model that was factory set at low impedance. This mic is a rugged design with studio sound quality that was the industry standard and so well made that even 40 + years later this mic still sounds as good as the day it was sold. The mic comes with an older A25 model mic clip shown as well as the original Shure mic pouch in which to store.

 Pic # 2 shows an older Shure advertisement showing both the SM58 and Beta 58. I don't have any other data sheets on this earlier 1st gen example.

 Pic # 3 shows The Judd's performing live with the early Beta 58 wireless and the Beta 58 wired series mics.

 Shure has been manufacturing the Beta 58A for almost 3 decades now but before the Beta 58A there was simply the Beta 58 and everyone I know swears that the American made Beta 58 is superior in every way. It's a beautiful sounding mic with extremely strong output. The SM-58 has a very warm, smooth tone with a fair amount of bass. Excellent uni-directional characteristics as well. These mics are built like tanks and properly taken care of there is no reason this mic can't last 100 years. A real workhorse and one of the most rugged Shure mics ever built. 

 Again, the Low Z setting makes this mic ideal for general broadcasting and singing. 

 While the Beta 58 is the same size and style of the SM-58 the Beta 58 came with a unique and appealing blue / grey paint scheme.

 As you can see there are just lite signs of wear on the painted handle with small spots of bubbling and scuff marks from years of use. The front globe looks really nice and it's free of dents, tarnish or odors. The inner foam insert / pop filter is completely original as the mic was stored in an ideal environment and it's in fantastic shape. I almost always have to replace these as the older ones are usually in rough and degraded condition. They help greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. The Shure label looks pretty nice too and completely legible.

 The XLR pins were cleaned for a perfect connection once the XLR cable is attached though no cable is provided.

 The microphone is a very conservative 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking though some would rate higher. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this up and you are ready for any live event.

 The mic clip is an older Shure A25 model mic clip. It's in very nice condition and grips the mic firmly. It's an all plastic design that provides a good amount of tilt up and down and it will screw onto any desk or floor stand.

 A nice original black Shure vinyl mic pouch is also included which is in perfect condition. It's a great place to store the mic when not in use and the zipper works perfectly. 

 If you demand a high quality Shure dynamic cardioid mic to use on the daily then this just might be for you.
