For your consideration is an incredibly clean and tastefully modified Simmons SDS7 Electronic Drum Synthesizer in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Everything has been gone through - pots have been cleaned, edge connectors have been buffed, the battery system has been updated with long life non-rechargeable, easy to replace AA batteries, and Factory Presets have been reloaded and modified to fit. It also features the highly desirable Notched Incrementor that makes programming much easier than with the standard free spinning Incrementor. While it is in excellent condition for a 40 year old synthesizer, there are a few light scuffs on the case.

It's also been updated with MIDI courtesy of a Tubbutec uniPulse MIDI to CV interface allowing for fully dynamic control of all channels and Open/Closed operation of HiHat module via MIDI CC1 - Mod Wheel. MIDI input is via 3.5mm jack on the rear panel and a custom 3.5mm to 5 pin DIN cable is included for easy connection. Because of this mod, the Sequencer Inputs have been disabled. However, they can be re-enabled by swapping the uniPulse output cable with the original Sequencer Input cable. The Pad Inputs work perfectly fine for almost all non-MIDI applications. And a switch has been added for swapping between MIDI and Pedal for HiHat control.

All modules have been modified with ZIF sockets for easy eprom swaps as well as Eprom Size Select Switches that allow the user to install 8k or 16k eproms in the Bass and Snare modules and 8k, 16k, or 32k eproms in the Tom, HiHat, and Cymbal modules. 

HiHat has also been modified with the Fast Decay mod that drastically shortens the minimum decay time while not affecting the maximum decay time.

Bass, Snare, and Tom modules have also been fitted with Waveform Select Switches that allow the user to access the unused Ramp and Pulse waveforms for greater synthesis possibilities and variations way outside the normal SDS7 palette.

In addition to the stock eproms there are 14 additional eproms to get you started: Simmons SDX Bruford Bass Drum, SDX Bruford Snare, SDX Fusion Tom A, SDX Fusion Tom B, SDX Fusion Tom D, SDX Fusion Ride Cymbal, SDX Orient China, Roland TR909 Bass Drum, Oberhiem DMX Snare, Simmons Clap 2, Sequential Circuits Cowbell, Linn LM1 Side Stick, Linn Rock House Tom, and MFB 512 Cymbal.

Also included is a Plasma Music AMEP which allows the user to back up SDS7 Kit data to 4 unique banks for easy cataloging of Kit data.

This unit also comes with a new 6' power cable, original v1 User Manual, aforementioned custom MIDI cable, and a somewhat functional Selector Pad where positions 1-7 work and 8-16 are unresponsive.
