Standard Player II P-Bass PickupsThe Configuration: Features a traditional split-coil design in the middle position. The split-coil inherently acts as a humbucker, canceling out 60-cycle hum while retaining a single-coil voice.Magnet Material: Built using Alnico V (5) magnets, which replaced the ceramic magnets used in older, entry-level Mexican Fender lines.
Alnico V offers greater dynamic range, better responsiveness, and a more musical response.Output & Resistance: Typically measures around 10.6k to 10.7k ohms DC resistance.
This provides a moderate-to-hot output that drives pedals and amplifiers exceptionally well while keeping individual notes articulate.
Tonal Profile: Re-voiced for the Player II launch, these pickups deliver punchy, growling mids, warm and tight low-end thump, and a bit of added "zing" or sweetness on the top end. Testers note it reduces the low-mid "muddiness" often associated with generic stock pickups.
