Up for sale is a beautiful and authentic master viola crafted by the renowned German luthier Rudolf Buchner in Nuremberg, Germany, dated 1965. This instrument belongs to Buchner’s highly sought-after independent era (1960s), showcasing exceptional craftsmanship deeply influenced by his master and father-in-law, Roman Teller. It features a stunning two-piece flamed maple back and a choice spruce top with a beautiful amber-brown oil varnish. Tone: Rich, warm, and projective traditional German sound, perfect for advanced conservatory students or orchestra players.

Important Details & Condition Notes:

- Label & Authenticity: The original internal paper label is intact, perfectly placed, and 100% authentic, featuring Rudolf Buchner's name in Gothic script. The Model No. "521" and the year "1965" are clearly visible, handwritten by the luthier.

- Structural Condition: The viola is in excellent structural health with absolutely no open cracks or past repairs on the top or back. The pegbox and scroll are structurally healthy and stable.

- Cosmetic Wear: It shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with its 61-year history. There is a minor, purely cosmetic varnish chip on the back of the scroll (shown in photos). The wood underneath is perfectly solid.

- Setup: The strings are currently kept loose/slackened to protect the instrument from unnecessary tension while stored, and it will be shipped this way for safety. The bridge is included but is currently loose due to the untuned strings.

- Case: Includes the original vintage hard case. It shows cosmetic and structural wear due to its age, but all latches work and it still functions properly to protect the viola.
