Soundtracs SPA 3200 32-Bus Analog Mixing Console (with Original PSU)

The SPA 3200 was actually designed primarily as a high-end sound reinforcement (live sound) console rather than a dedicated recording desk. Although it works great as a dedica recording desk as well. This model had some unusually advanced features for the time, including:

• 32-bus architecture
• Individual hardware noise gates on every input
• 4-band sweepable EQ
• Six aux sends
• Very high headroom and excellent routing flexibility

Those features made it popular with many touring companies, various theaters, large churches, and even for live broadcast work.  

There are documented examples of the SPA 3200 being used on major tours. For example:

• A Swedish audio company put an SPA 3200 out on some major European concert tours.
• French production company Société Française de Production purchased both an SPA 3200 and SPA 4000 for use in live broadcasting and musical acts.
• The gospel group The Winans toured internationally using an SPA 3200 supplied by a prestigious London sound company.  
  
  The Soundtracs SPA 3200 is becoming surprisingly sought after and is highly collectible. People restoring analog studios and vintage live rigs like them because they’re built like armored vehicles, have genuinely pleasant and warm musical EQ, and were engineered in Britain during a period when Soundtracs was making some seriously underrated consoles. Used by many famous artists. The downside is that they weigh about the same as a Sherman tank.
  

Given the condition you described in detail before, your asking price around $3,700 with the original PSU was actually right in the ballpark for a clean, updated fully functional example. The original factory linear power supply majorly adds the real value because those are practically impossible to find than the console itself.

THE HONEST ISSUES:

• 2 channels are not working properly. They have been swapped out and put on the right side at the very end of the console. These can be fixed easily. When the board was moved last it was serviced thoroughly and unfortunately was short the necessary components for the two channels. So they were just moved to the end and never got around to having them finished.
  
• Some of the lights are out behind a few of the meters, the bulbs are not the easiest to replace. The replacements bulbs can be found but they take a lot of doing to change them out.
  
  Other then these issues this thing works really great! Unit has been studio kept and not abused. I under priced it so it sells fast! Get it before its gone! It would make any studio, live music venues, bars , taverns, or any out door event venues that need live professional sound!
