Boss DC-2W Waza Craft Dimension C Pedal | No Limit Guitar Co, Idaho Falls

The Boss DC-2W Waza Craft Dimension C is not a chorus pedal. We want to be absolutely clear about that — the Dimension effect is NOT a chorus. While it is time-based like a chorus, the Dimension's circuit is something entirely different and far more sophisticated — subtly enhancing the width and depth of the source audio without any prominent modulated movement or obvious "effect" sound. The result is more open, more natural, and more three-dimensional than what chorus produces, gently enriching any instrument or mix in a way that makes everything simply sound better without sounding processed. The DC-2W brings back this legendary spatial effect in premium Waza Craft analog form — delivering not just a perfect sonic recreation of the original 1985 DC-2 Dimension C pedal, but also the iconic Roland SDD-320 Dimension D studio rack effect it was based on. Twenty total Dimension variations across two modes, versatile mono and stereo I/O, electronic preset switching with LED indicators, a premium buffer circuit, and BOSS's five-year warranty make the DC-2W the most complete and authentic Dimension experience ever available in a pedal.

Product Overview

The Dimension effect has a long and storied history rooted in one of the most beloved "secret weapon" studio processors of the modern era. The Roland SDD-320 Dimension D debuted in 1979 and almost immediately became a go-to spatial enhancement tool for audio engineers and producers worldwide — heard on countless classic records across every genre, applied to electric pianos, synths, strings, backing vocals, guitars, and more. Its unique approach to spatial processing injects what engineers describe as "sonic mojo" and "glue" without creating an obvious effect sound — the track simply sounds wider, deeper, and more present than before, with no audible modulation or pitch movement that would reveal a processing artifact. This is what distinguishes the Dimension from chorus: chorus produces a discernible, moving modulation that is heard as an effect. The Dimension produces spatial enhancement that is felt more than heard.

In 1985, BOSS brought the Dimension D's spatial character to the compact pedal format with the DC-2 Dimension C — a modified circuit designed specifically for mono sources like guitar that produced a slightly different tonal flavor from the original rack unit while preserving the fundamental Dimension experience. The DC-2W captures both of these circuits in a single pedal: Standard (S) mode delivers the exact sound of the original DC-2 Dimension C, while SDD-320 mode authentically reproduces the vintage Roland SDD-320 Dimension D — allowing players and engineers to access both the guitar-specific DC-2 character and the broader, studio-oriented SDD-320 character from one unit.

The interface preserves the original's iconic four-button preset design — four switches corresponding to increasing levels of width and depth — now updated with modern electronic switches and LED status indicators for more reliable performance. In Standard mode, these four switches produce the same preset sounds as the original DC-2. In SDD-320 mode, they reproduce the Dimension D's classic sounds. But the DC-2W goes further: pressing two switches simultaneously unlocks six additional sound variations in each mode — four "in-between" sounds and two all-new voices — bringing the total available Dimension variations to 20 across the two modes. This is a significant expansion beyond what either original unit was capable of, even accounting for the undocumented multi-button behavior that engineers used to explore on the original Dimension D rack.

Built in the Waza Craft tradition using carefully selected analog components and refined circuitry, the DC-2W features a newly designed internal bypass circuit that significantly improves on the original DC-2's bypass performance, a premium buffer circuit for ultra-transparent tone when the pedal is switched off, and versatile I/O that accommodates both mono and stereo operation — making it equally at home on a guitar or bass pedalboard, connected to a keyboard rig, or integrated into a studio mixing console setup. Made in Japan, backed by BOSS's five-year warranty.

Ideal For

  • Guitarists, keyboard players, and studio engineers who want the legendary spatial enhancement of the Dimension effect — the natural width and depth that makes everything sound better without an obvious processed character
  • Players who have been using chorus to get "that sound" and want to discover what the Dimension actually does — and why it's fundamentally different and more musical
  • Audio engineers and producers who want authentic SDD-320 Dimension D access in a pedalboard-friendly format rather than hunting for vintage rack hardware
  • Musicians who want premium Waza Craft analog construction, Japanese craftsmanship, and BOSS's five-year warranty in a genuinely rare and historically significant effect
  • Guitarists and keyboardists in Idaho Falls looking for the spatial effect that has appeared on more classic records than almost any other processor — now more versatile than ever

Key Features

It's NOT a Chorus — It's the Dimension Effect
Unlike chorus, which produces discernible modulated movement, the Dimension subtly enhances the width and depth of any source audio without obvious pitch fluctuation or modulation artifacts — the result is more open, more natural, and more three-dimensional than chorus can achieve.

Two Modes — DC-2 Standard and SDD-320
Standard mode delivers the exact sound of the 1985 BOSS DC-2 Dimension C pedal. SDD-320 mode authentically reproduces the legendary Roland SDD-320 Dimension D studio rack effect — two classic Dimension circuits, one Waza Craft pedal.

20 Total Dimension Variations
Four preset switches in each mode, plus six additional variations accessible by pressing two switches simultaneously, produce 20 total Dimension sounds — significantly expanding beyond what either original unit was capable of.

All-Analog Waza Craft Circuit
Built from the original circuit designs with carefully selected analog components and modern refinements, the DC-2W delivers complete sonic authenticity in the Waza Craft tradition — Made in Japan.

Versatile Mono and Stereo I/O
Compatible with mono and stereo signal paths — guitar and bass pedalboards, keyboard rigs, audio interfaces, and studio mixing consoles alike — making the DC-2W useful far beyond traditional guitar applications.

Premium Buffer and Enhanced Bypass Circuitry
A premium buffer circuit ensures ultra-transparent tone when the pedal is bypassed, and a newly redesigned internal bypass circuit significantly improves on the performance of the original DC-2.

BOSS Five-Year Warranty
Backed by BOSS's five-year warranty — reflecting the brand's confidence in the DC-2W's build quality and long-term reliability.
