The ISP Technologies Decimator II uses patented adaptive release circuitry to track note envelopes and apply noise reduction without chopping off sustain or transients. It maintains a consistent noise floor even when switching between high-gain and clean settings, so the threshold stays effective across different gain stages. The circuit is true bypass and draws minimal current from a standard 9V supply. It works by continuously monitoring the input signal and applying variable attenuation based on real-time envelope data rather than a fixed threshold alone. This lets fast staccato notes pass cleanly while longer sustains decay naturally without noise buildup. The single control sets the overall reduction amount, and the pedal stays transparent when the gate is not actively attenuating.
