About This Model

The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Flex is a compact wireless hi-fi speaker built around a two-way driver configuration: a 100mm woven glass fibre mid/bass driver paired with a 25mm decoupled double dome tweeter, driven by 100 watts of Class D amplification via two 50W amplifiers. It covers a frequency response of 50Hz to 28kHz and supports hi-res audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. Connectivity is broad, encompassing Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz mesh), Ethernet, Bluetooth with aptX HD, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect. A touch-sensitive panel sits on top for local control, while the recessed base houses a power input, Ethernet port, USB-C service port, and reset button — though there is no auxiliary input. The Formation Flex can operate as a standalone mono speaker, be paired for stereo, or integrated into a Formation-ecosystem surround setup including the Formation Bar and Bass.
