Bay Area Vintage Guitars is pleased to present this 1962 Fender Princeton Combo Amp including original footswitch, and Victoria cover.
The early 1960s Brownface Princeton is one of Fender’s most desirable small-format vintage amplifiers, offering a warmer, more dimensional voice than the later Blackface-era models while retaining the clarity, touch sensitivity, and musical breakup that made Fender amps legendary, and why Chris Stapleton favors this amp and his own Fender Princeton model .
This example presents beautifully with its original brown tolex and original grille cloth. The amp has been serviced and is in very good working condition. It was serviced (receipt included) in 2022 and rarely used over the past 4 years.
The amplifier has an updated power transformer, and it is fitted with an upgraded period-correct Jensen speaker, giving it the right vintage-style response, feel, and tonal character.

Why This Amp Matters
The 1962 Brownface Princeton represents Fender in one of its most interesting transitional periods — after the tweed era and before the Blackface redesign. These amps have their own voice: warmer, rounder, rawer, and more harmonically complex than many later Princeton models.
For players looking for a true pre-CBS Fender amp with classic looks, manageable volume, and inspiring tone, this is a fantastic example.
