This 8x22" DW Bass Drum Wooferwas owned and used by longtime Chicago drummer Tris Imboden. Built by DW in 2002 and finished in a beautiful transparent Wine Red lacquer over figured maple, the drum is equipped with a May Internal Microphone System
Woofer bass drums gained popularity during the 1990s and early 2000s as a way to enhance the depth and power of a primary bass drum. Mounted in front of or adjacent to the main bass drum, the woofer acts as a resonating chamber while the internal microphone captures a focused low-end signal, providing engineers with additional punch and sub-frequency control.
The 22" Woofer was part of Tris Imboden's professional touring inventory during his celebrated tenure with Chicago. The drum retains its original DW hardware, black resonant head, and May microphone installation.
The drum remains in excellent condition with no issues.
