The PRS Studio model is a modern take on a traditional single-single-hum guitar. It features PRS’s proprietary Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions, along with a 58/15 LT humbucking treble pickup. This combination offers punchy single coils, vintage scooped tones, and the powerful sound of a treble humbucker all in one instrument. The Studio model provides access to a wide range of sounds with the push/pull tone control and 5-way blade switch, offering seven combinations in total. It covers classic tones while maintaining a unique voice, making it a versatile guitar.

In 2024, PRS Guitars updated the tuning machines on many of their Core guitars. The new Wing buttons, designed to echo the 12th fret bird wingspan design, are lighter weight than their metal predecessors. This design helps the guitar ring longer and at a more musical note by subtracting less energy from the vibrating strings.
