For sale is a Sound Electronics Model X305R tube combo amplifier, made in the USA during the 1960s.
This is a unique-sounding vintage amp with plenty of character. The built-in spring reverb is deep and lush, while the tremolo is outstanding, ranging from a subtle shimmer to an extremely intense effect at higher settings. At its most extreme, it can resemble the swirling character of a rotary speaker.
The amp is particularly well suited for blues, country, surf, jazz, and other vintage-inspired styles. It is not a high-gain amplifier; when pushed, it produces a smooth and natural overdrive rather than heavy distortion.
Features a Jensen speaker made in the USA.
This amplifier comes from the private collection of English musician and producer Adrian Utley, best known as a member of Portishead.
The amp is fully functional and in excellent working condition. The tubes are in very good shape and perform as they should.
Please note that this is a 110V amplifier.
