Looking for a good home is this (made in November of 2020) Fender American Professional II Stratocaster. I am the original owner, and purchased the guitar in 2021. This was my go-to guitar for a few years, but it now spends most of its time in the case as I don’t play single coil guitars as much as I used to.
What drew me to buying this one was the comfort. You can’t beat the Strat body when it comes to ergonomics and comfort (especially with the curved neck heel), and the Deep C shaped neck combined with the narrow tall frets feels amazing! I measured the 1st fret at 0.85”, and 12th fret at 0.92”, slightly thicker than the usual Strat neck and definitely adds to the comfort. The guitar is fairly light as well, coming in at 7lb 15oz. on my scale. I also really like the Miami Blue color, and the “Fender 75” years stamp on the back of the headstock is a classy touch.
In 2023, to my luck, one of the pickups failed. I say luck because I was never all that happy with the V Mod II pickups, and found them to be very overrated. So I decided to try some new pickups out, and the Fender Custom Shop Fat 60s pickups were by far the best and haven’t left the guitar since. They sound incredible! The push-push still remains in the bridge tone knob, so you can still add the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2 which is absolutely amazing with Fat 60s.
When I switched the pickups out, I also added a gold anodized pickguard (scratch plate), and (almost) matching back plate. I think the anodized one really compliments the Miami Blue color. About the back plate, I say almost matching because Fender doesn’t/didn’t (that I know of) make a matching one. The back plate is an aftermarket piece and the brushing doesn’t match the pick guard. I always meant to brush it to match, but never really had the time. The guitar will ship with the originals (pictured).
Condition:
Overall, the guitar is in great shape. Over the past 5 years, it has been played quite a bit. While it has seen a good amount of play, the instrument has been well taken care of. As typical of its age and use, you’ll find light scratches throughout the body. There are 2 dings/dents that I did my best to show in pictures, each in places that aren’t very noticeable. One measuring approximately 0.90”x0.80” near the tone knobs on the side edge of the body, and one on the back that is about 0.30”x0.07”. Both are rather shallow and do not penetrate the paint, completely cosmetic and obviously don’t affect playability. Also, on the volume knob, there is some noise around 1 (knob turned down toward off) due to the pot being a little dirty. A little DeoxIt spray should clear that right up. With these imperfections in mind, I am listing the guitar in “Very good” condition.
The frets are in excellent shape with tons of life left, and have been polished somewhat recently. As far as setup, it is to my personal preference with a somewhat low action and strung with Ernie Ball 9’s to E flat.
The guitar ships with everything pictured including COA, hang tags, case with keys, Allen wrenches, original pickguard and back plate tremolo (vibrato) bar etc.
Thanks for looking, and feel free to reach out with any questions!
