Here's a nice set of 60's Trixon drums in just about the most "normal" outfit you could get from them; the "Luxus" outfit! 14x20", 8x13", 16x16", and 5x14". These are all original, finished in gold sparkle wrap and in very nice shape with just a few small cosmetic blemishes in the wrap. The toms still have their original Trixon by Remo Weatherking heads - they hardly have a mark on them! We've put a fresh Trixon logo head on the bass drum, and its batter head is a new Aquarian clear Force 1. The snare drum heads are both fresh Remo Ambassador/snare side. Just a couple minor notes on this set:

The 16x16" has one floor tom leg bracket with a chipped plastic insert that has been reaffixed into place with contact cement, bringing it back to its proper functionality. It is also missing one tension knob for the internal tone control. The 13" tom has a bent/non functional batter side tone control, and the resonant side is also non-functional. The snare drum and both of the bass drum tone controls are all functional.

Steve’s notes: This is a very cool set. 8x13, 16x16, 14x20, 5x14. Trixon drums were made in Germany and the quality was extremely good. They did get a reputation for having “oddball” drums because some were “peach-basket-like” (with bottom heads being one inch less circumference than the top head), and also the infamous “elliptical” bass drum. However, they also made “standard” drums and the shells were Beech, very much like what Sonor used during this same period. The shells are very musical. Trixon used a fair amount of plastic parts, such as the “surrounds” on their lugs, and for a while also on some of their strainer parts. That plastic gets dried out after 60 years. But, on this set the good news is that the plastic parts are in nice shape, and the strainer has the metal parts, not plastic. So, this set is all set to go. Sounds great and a cool vibe. By the way, at one point in the 60s Trixon was sold in the US under the Vox name. (And yes, Buddy Rich did play a Trixon/Vox set. He endorsed this brand for only about 6 months back around 1967, and there is even some video of him with his set).

A video demo of another "Luxus" outfit we've had previously is attached to this listing - check it out!
