Behold what may be the ultimate 70s player Stratocaster. It is well-played and worn as the pictures speak for themselves, and for good reason, it is among the very best sounding Strats I have ever played. Very glassy with good output in all 5 positions.
It appears to be a smuggler special… the pickup area beneath the pickguard was routed a long time ago… probably not for humbuckers as the old pickups are there and the pickguard is original - so probably to hide their stash from Johnny Law. It has since been copper shielded helping with the sound. Anyway, it makes the guitar around the same weight as a modern one (8.6 pounds), which is nice, as most late 70s strats are around 10 pounds.
Museum curators can take a pass, but this is a great vibey instrument of that era and is a ton of fun to play and sounds awesome
