This was a drum shell (10x6.5), with BEAUTIFUL original sky blue pearl wrap, that I rescued! When I got it, it had multiple extra holes where I think someone had planned on turning it into a dual headed drum, or popcorn snare etc (there’s an extra hole below each mini Classic lug)
Well, I filled the holes with maple plugs and covered them with identical (same vintage from under the wrap overlay) Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl dots. I did not fill the holes now hidden by the rim mount. The lugs are in wonderful condition and so is the hoop (the hoop is not original). The batter side bearing edge is pretty nice, but has a bit to be desired of the bottom edge… it’s a concert tom, so who cares if it isn‘t exactly perfect?! This is definitely what I’d call a player’s drum, but it just happens to be way prettier than your everyday player’s drum!
I’m hoping there is someone out there that has been waiting for a 10” tom for their 70s Sky Blue Pearl kit.
