Up for sale, a 2002 Gibson Custom Shop Prototype Les Paul Junior DC Contour in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, CoA, and hangtag. This Custom Shop Prototype is the only documented Double Cut example of this unproduced model, boasting a forearm contour on top and a fairly generous belly carve on the back of the mahogany body. Other distinctive features include reflector cap knobs, tortoise pickguard and truss rod cover, pearl headstock inlay, and chrome hardware including the “dogear” pickup cover.
The mahogany construction results in great natural midrange warmth and growl, and these qualities are faithfully captured by the original P-90 pickup. This pickup delivers all the glassy clarity, detail, and midrange growl inherent to the P-90 design, with an authoritative chewiness and gain-ready articulation. This Les Paul Junior DC Contour Prototype weighs 7lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss TV Yellow nitro lacquer finish exhibits a bit of faint buckle wear on the back and some pinhead-sized dings on the top and lower bout perimeter. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for one shallow mark behind fret 7 that has no impact on playability.
The original Custom Shop hardshell case is included, along with the serialized CoA and hangtag.
