I’m excited to announce that I’m back creating custom suitcase kick drums, and I’ve got a beautiful dark cherry vintage suitcase kick drum available for purchase! This unique piece features a 13 inch head and delivers a sound that is both powerful and versatile. Whether you’ve heard one of these instruments or not, they’re truly something special – if you haven’t experienced their sound yet, you’re missing out! I first discovered them through the incredible artist Shakey Graves, and his early work, like “Late July,” perfectly captures the magic these suitcase drums bring to music. 

The sound is exceptional whether mic’d up or played acoustically, making these suitcase kick drums perfect for a range of musical styles and settings. From professional studio recordings and live performances to busking on the road or jamming around a campfire with friends, these drums deliver. 

Each suitcase I work with is an authentic vintage piece, meaning no two are alike. Their wear and tear tells a story and adds to their unique character. To start playing, all you need to do is attach your kick pedal to the suitcase hinge, and you’re ready to rock.
