The 2007 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Reissue (R9) is an exacting recreation of the 1959 Les Paul. It features a premium figured maple top, lightweight mahogany body, a long neck tenon, a '59 rounded neck profile, Burstbucker pickups, and vintage-style hardware.
- Body Wood: Lightweight, solid mahogany back with a carved, figured maple top (often AAA or AAAA grade)
- Neck Wood: 1-piece mahogany with a long neck tenon for superior sustain
- Neck Profile: Authentic 1959 rounded "C" shape (chunky but very comfortable, larger than a '60 and slightly smaller than a '58)
- Fingerboard: Rosewood with aged cellulose nitrate/acrylic trapezoid inlays
- Scale Length: 24.75"
- Nut Width: 1.687" (approx. 43mm)
- Frets: 22 vintage-style frets [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
Hardware & Electronics
- Pickups: Gibson BurstBucker 1 (neck) and BurstBucker 2 (bridge)
- Controls: 2 x volume, 2 x tone, 3-way toggle switch. Wired 1950s-style with "Bumble Bee" capacitors
- Bridge/Tailpiece: Nickel-plated ABR-1 bridge with lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece
- Tuners: Vintage Kluson-style tulip tuners
- Finishes: Available in VOS (Vintage Original Spec - slightly aged finish/hardware) or Gloss, in classic sunburst shades (e.g., Heritage Cherry, Washed Cherry, Iced Tea, Faded Tobacco)
- Weight: Typically averages between 8.5 lbs and 9.5 lbs And this one is right in the middle at an even 9.0 lbs
