I'm selling my amazing Neve 2264A LB Compressor in excellent condition. I love this unit (have two of them), but I need to finance a larger studio purchase and an international move!

Tone and Depth

For a relatively "transparent" compressor, this just adds instant weight and warmth to any source and brings out a pleasing harmonic richness... Amazing for vocals and acoustic guitar! Excels on bass, drums, and groups / buss compressing in mono, or paired with a second unit for stereo. Even running signal through this circuit with the compressor off sounds good... A few weeks back I was mixing drums and decided to use this as an insert after screwing around with plugins for a little too long. Found the sound I was looking for in about 45 seconds with this and a little EQ...

There's a definite 3-D thing going on here, and the Slow Attack mode and Limiter gives you a lot of flexibility. Even if it's not as lighting fast as an 1176, what it's amazing at is adding a clarity and smoothness to things that rounds out harshness. It does something special to room sound and ambience on drums, especially if there's a bit of off-axis stuff going on - it just gives you a more natural feeling sense of the space. Neve did it again with this one. Not to be missed!
