Personal Thoughts:
Rock N Roll Relics guitars have a really strong following because they sit in that nice spot between boutique build quality and old-school rock ’n’ roll attitude. They tend to feel very direct, lively and full of character, and the Thunders model especially leans into that stripped-back, punk-meets-vintage double cut idea. This one sounds like a very cool spec as well. The Doghair Mahogany finish is exactly the sort of look that suits the model, and the D. Allen AllenTrons are a big part of what makes it interesting, because they should give the guitar a slightly more open, chimey and distinctive voice than a more predictable humbucker setup. The rest of the hardware is strong too, with TonePros, Kluson Supreme tuners and Emerson electronics all being nice quality upgrades. A very cool boutique USA build with loads of attitude.
