Description

As one of the most recorded bass players of all time, Lee Sklar knows a thing or two about sculpting the perfect bass tone. This is why he has used the original EMG P as the foundation for his sound since the 70’s when John Carruthers built his legendary Frankenstein Bass. Loaded with two “reversed” EMG P pickups, the Frankenstein Bass has appeared on thousands of recordings. Lee helped put EMG Pickups on the map when he hit the studio scene with his new bass as his career started taking off, impressing everyone from producers to fellow musicians with its clear and articulate tone. Now, nearly 50 years later, EMG has recreated that original precision pickup made famous by the Frankenstein bass. Not only does this model include the original raised logo caps, but EMG tweaked the P preamp to recreate the tonal response of that original bass and its 18-volt mod setup. This modification results in a potent low-end presence and powerful output while maintaining that clarity and punch that EMGs are known for. Like all EMG products, these pickups include the solderless wiring system for simple installation.
