The Sandberg California II VM5 is a masterclass in German craftsmanship, combining premium materials, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional tonal versatility. This 2026 model features a mahogany body finished with a quilted maple top, giving it a striking modern character and road-ready feel.

A roasted maple neck with roasted maple fingerboard provides smooth, fast playability, perfectly balanced for extended studio sessions or live performances. The ergonomic Hard Aged neck and body contours ensure comfort without compromising tone.

Equipped with Sandberg pickups and Sandberg electronics, including a blend control, and 2-band EQ (with passive tone option), the VM5 offers a wide range of tones—from deep, warm lows to bright, punchy highs.

Like all Sandberg instruments, this bass is factory Plek’d for perfectly leveled frets, optimal nut shaping, and a setup that allows it to play flawlessly straight out of the case. Supplied with a gig bag, certificate, and tools, the California II VM5 is a professional-grade instrument that delivers boutique quality, iconic tone, and effortless playability.
