ADA Digital Delay rack mount bundle, featuring a working D1280 and a needs repair D640 (see below) with both units part of ADA’s early-to-mid 1980s rack delay lineup.
The D640 is a shorter-delay great for tight slapback echoes, chorus and flanging, short ambient delays, stereo widening effects and early rack “modulated delay” tones. Features include:
- Up to ~640 ms delay time
- Delay time control with wide sweep range
- Feedback/regeneration control
- Mix/blend control
- Modulation section for chorus/flange effects
- Analog-style coloration despite being digital
- Infinite repeat / hold-style effects on some versions or via feedback tricks
The D1280 features roughly double the delay time of the D640 and is known for amazing pitch sweeps when changing delay time, early looping/sample-grab texture and massive atmospheric repeats. Features include:
- Up to ~1280 ms (1.28 seconds) delay time
- Longer ambient echoes
- More dramatic feedback textures
- Modulation for chorus/flanging
- Infinite repeat / freeze-style capability
- Delay-time manipulation for pitch-bending effects
The D640 powers on with condition as shown, including missing knobs and some screws. Pots need cleaning, with some pots possibly needing replacement. Internally chassis is clean and seems complete making this unit a great project at a great price. Selling as a pair as shown.
