Pin Electronics Portabella MKIII 2025 - Silver front in black case

This must be the 3rd time in 2 months i have put this up for sale. On previous occasions I changed my mind every time I played it for a few minutes. This time I have put the lid on the case and set it aside.

(And I've made new pictures, on the garden table.)

So, up for sale is a mint PIN Electronics Portabella mkIII suitcase synthesizer. The next best thing to an EMS Synthi A in terms of collectibility, but functionally its equal, if not more.

It would be hard to tell apart the EMS Synthi and PIN Portabella in terms of sound and interface. (Which is a very important part of the synth's appeal, with its matrix and joystick and dedicated knobs for just about anything.)

I won't go into much detail, since I assume you know the EMS Synthi if you've arrived here.

Let me just say the Portabella MKIII has cv/gate input instead of midi, the filter can be switched between 18dB and 24dB and slew or unslew. The trapezoid has switches for x10 and invert. The Portabella also has twin random voltage generators, of which the clock can be used as a gate signal, tempo can be set and varied and voltage 1 and 2 can be adjusted separately.

The inputs and outputs vary slightly from the EMS, please check the pictures to get a good idea.

This PIN Portabella was purchased new in June 2025 and has been used and cared for in a smoke-free and pet-free home studio ever since. It comes with 24 patch pins (2 of which with higher resistance for subtle modulation), the original power supply and the 12V lamp.

The synth ihas beautiful chrome caps on the knobs. The case is a little robust for my taste, but with the lid off, it still looks great. (and it's a matter of taste, ofcourse.)

This particular PIN Electronics Portabella MKIII looks, sounds and works great.

(Which can be expected from a synth that was bought new in June 2025 and cared for and played in a smokefree. petfree homestudio situation.)

However, to avoid any hassle or confusion, I am selling the Portabella As-Is, broken, for parts and I will not accept any warranty claims or returns. This is a private sale.

Then again, a copy of the original invoice will be included with the delivery.

The synth can be tested and picked up near Rotterdam, Netherlands. I willl ship worldwide at cost, insured, at buyer's risk. (Please check with me for the actual shipping cost!)

A local pick-up near Rotterdam, Netherlands is more than welcome. But I can also ship the synth, safely packed and insured. For Netherlands and certain other parts of Europe I would prefer to hand over the synth in person, rather than ship it, as long as it's within reasonable distance (a day's drive), or can be combined with visiting a nice place. I like Düsseldorf, Köln, Antwerp or Paris and I love Berlin.

I prefer shipment or delivery within the EU, but I will consider shipping elsewhere, but with regards to what's going on around the world these days, please contact me first to discuss shipping options and restrictions, if you're outside the EU. Thanks.

(I have recently sold a Doepfer Regelwerk to someone in the USA, and much to my surprise the import duties had to be paid by me at time of shipping. So please note, these have to be added on top of my price!)
