JUDY BOX DC SPECIAL Al Nelson’s FIRST JUDY BOX amp made in 2003. Serial Number 01.
Own a piece of rock n roll history, this is the first Judy Box amp, made in Texas by Al Nelson in 2003. It has two EL84’s, a 5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tube, and two 12AX7 tubes. Amp was made with quality components- Hammond Transformer, CTS pots, etc. Like many Judy Box amps made by Al Nelson from this period, it does have a slight hum (not too loud but it is there). Good sounding amp. Sold “AS-IS”.
The amp was custom-built by Al Nelson in Austin, Texas. This was the first amp he made. Judybox Amps were a big deal at the 2006 NAMM show, which was held in Austin, however, soon afterwards, the wheels fell off the project and Al sold the company to Chinese investors. This is NOT an amp made after Al Nelson sold the company, but instead, the FIRST JUDYBOX Amp custom-made by Al Nelson in 2003. It has a "SN #01 1/03" inscription on the amp (see Photos).
