The 1976 Ibanez CP-830 Compressor is an incredibly rare, first-generation vintage stompbox manufactured in Japan by Maxon for Ibanez. Known for its transparent, chimey compression and exceptional sustain, it remains a highly sought-after collector's item among vintage gear enthusiasts. 
Key Features & Specs

• Circuitry: Features classic optical-style compression that preserves the natural, uncompressed tone of your guitar.
• Controls: Simple two-knob layout for Sustain (compression ratio/threshold) and Volume (output level).
• Power: Originally designed to run solely on a single 9V battery. Because early models lacked a DC jack, many surviving units have been professionally modified by owners to accept a standard center-negative 9V power supply.
• Collectibility: 1976 was the first year of production, and this specific run can be identified by its script-style Maxon/Ibanez logo and the metal barrel knobs. The very earliest 1976 variants feature "Pat. Pend" printed underneath "Made in Japan" on the back plate.
