Up for sale is a classic Akai MPC2000XL Studio Plus Edition sampler/sequencer! This is effectively the “luxury trim“ version of 2000XL and all aspects are fully original with no 3rd party mods installed.

Edit: It only has the 2mb RAM that part is standard.

What Makes the "Studio Plus" Edition Special?

Unlike the base MPC2000XL, the factory Studio Plus package comes pre-installed with Akai's premier internal expansion options of the time:

IB-M208P Board: 8 Individual 1/4" Analog Outputs + S/PDIF Digital I/O (essential for tracking drum stems directly into your DAW).

EB16 SampleVerb FX Board: 4-bus digital multi-effects processor built right into the unit.

IC-M2TC SMPTE Option: Dedicated SMPTE timecode sync functionality.

Core Specs: 32-voice polyphony, classic 16 velocity/pressure-sensitive pads across 4 banks, 8 output channels in addition to the 2 main outputs, S/PDIF RCA connector outputs, SMPTE timecode sync I/O, 2 MIDI in and out ports, 2 channel record in for sampling, 3.5in floppy disk drive, and rear SCSI connectivity for easy storage expansion.

Condition & Functionality

Functional Condition: Fully operational—all pads, buttons, knobs, and inputs/outputs respond as they should.

Display Details: All menus and text are intact with no dead lines, making it fully usable out of the box. The LCD screen does show some typical vintage aging/discoloration from depolarization (see photos).

Cosmetic Condition: Overall solid condition with normal minor studio wear expected for gear from this era (mainly some wear on the pads and surface scratches around the outputs) clearly shown in the photos.
