1962 Fender Vibrolux amplifier The 1960's Fender Vibrolux marked a major step forward in Fender’s evolving amplifier lineup, offering more power and headroom than the Deluxe and Tremolux while sitting just below the larger 2x10" Super. Dressed in the newly introduced tan and brown Tolex of the early ’60s, this era also brought Fender’s now-classic front-mounted control panel and refreshed cabinet design. Powered by a pair of 6L6 tubes, the Vibrolux delivers around 30 watts of rich, dynamic tone with impressive clarity and punch. While Fender originally promoted its “clean and distortionless power,” these amps would soon become celebrated for the warm, harmonically rich overdrive that helped define the sound of electric guitar throughout the decades that followed.

This 1962 Fender Vibrolux is in amazing condition for being 64 years old! There is a stain on the right side of the cabinet (see photo).  A properly grounded cord has been installed, with the death cap removed and polarity switch bypassed. The amp has seen some service work prior to coming into our shop, including changing out the electrolytics, a resistor or two, and the power transformer. The replacement transformer was made by Transformer Manufacturers, Inc. (EIA number 1052,) out of the Chicago area. The original handle has been replaced with a Fender vintage replacement. The original speaker was replaced at some point by the Oxford that's currently in the cab, dated 1981.
