Pair of FireWire-era units. The Liquid Mix provides DSP-based compression and EQ emulations, while the Firebox is a compact audio interface with mic preamps and I/O.
Both require a FireWire-compatible system, so best suited to older setups or specific use cases.
Focusrite Liquid Mix DSP Processor (FireWire)
DSP-based processing unit designed to provide compression and EQ emulations, offloading mix processing from your computer. Connects via FireWire and integrates with a DAW, with a hardware control surface for hands-on adjustment.
Regardless of age, these emulations are excellent.
Comes with original software CD and PSU.
A niche but capable unit for legacy systems or anyone specifically looking for hardware-assisted DSP mixing.
PreSonus Firebox FireWire Audio Interface
Compact FireWire audio interface with mic preamps and a range of analogue and digital I/O for basic recording and playback. Designed for small studio or mobile setups, with a straightforward layout and easy integration into DAWs of its era.
Includes two mic/instrument inputs, line outputs, MIDI, and S/PDIF, making it a flexible unit for simple recording tasks.
Comes with original software CD and manual
The Liquid Mix powers on fine, but is untested in current setup due to lack of a compatible FireWire system. I cannot test the Firebox. I bought these both new, they have had home studio use only, and have been in (dry, warm) storage since I moved from PC to Mac.
