The Guild Starfire III from the Newark St. Collection is a refined tribute to the early 1960s classic that helped define the sound of the rock ‘n’ roll revolution. This thinline hollow-body instrument features an arched laminated mahogany top, back, and sides, providing a rich and organic resonance while remaining remarkably lightweight and comfortable for extended playing sessions. Its single Florentine cutaway offers easy access to the upper registers of the 20-fret fingerboard, which is paired with a sturdy one-piece mahogany neck carved into a vintage soft "U" profile. By maintaining the extra-thin body depth of approximately two inches, Guild has created an instrument that delivers the airy, woody character of a traditional hollow-body but with a much higher resistance to the feedback issues typically found in deeper jazz-style guitars

With a pair of LB-1 "Little Bucker" pickups, the Starfire III occupies a unique sonic space between the bright snap of a single-coil and the thick warmth of a full-sized humbucker. These pickups are designed to replicate the Anti-Hum dual-coils of the original era, offering a jangle and clarity that cuts through a mix without sacrificing the punch needed for overdriven blues or rock tones. The hardware package further enhances its vintage appeal, featuring a Guild-branded vibrato tailpiece for expressive pitch modulation and Grover Sta-Tite open-gear tuners for exceptional tuning stability.
