Ibanez RG-750 WH Factory Refinish Fujigen MIJ 1987-1991

This is an Ibanez RG-750 in White, made around 1987-1991.

It is in very clean condition, but please note that this guitar has been refinished.

According to the story I was told when I acquired it, the previous owner purchased it new around 1987 and used it for some time, then kept it in storage until around 2004. By that point, after about 17 years, he became concerned about the yellowing of the body and the darkening of the back of the neck, so he asked the original manufacturer, Fujigen, to refinish it in the same color (body and back of the neck). After the work was completed, he also purchased a hard case and kept the guitar stored in it. Based on the overall condition of the instrument, I believe this story is credible.

For guitars from this era, the serial number was originally shown on a sticker on the back of the headstock, but that sticker was removed during the refinishing process.

Normally, the word “refinish” can carry a slightly negative impression. However, in this case, since the work was reportedly done by the original manufacturer in the original color, I personally see it as a positive point rather than a negative one. The RG series is very popular, and many examples from this era have been heavily played. This one was refinished and then carefully stored, and it remains in very good condition. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean RG from this period.

The weight is approximately 3.5 kg.

As you can see, there are no major noticeable scratches, and even minor scratches are very minimal. It is in very clean condition overall. The frets also have plenty of life remaining. There is some slight aging to the black hardware, and there are picking scratches on the pickguard. Even so, I think it is quite rare to find an RG from this era in this kind of condition.

Accessories include an Ibanez hard case and tremolo arm.
