'If you’re looking to enter the world of synthesis, sample-triggering or MIDI sequencing using your guitar or bass, then this is your box. The GI-20 GK-MIDI Interface detects the signal from any electric guitar or bass equipped with a GK-3, GK-3B or other 13-pin divided pickup, respectively, and lets you trigger synthesizers and samplers, or even record your playing as MIDI data.'
This unit had the lowest latency of the 13 Pin Roland guitar to MIDI converters when driving external synths. There are some test results on gr300.com website under MIDI Speed Tests.
It is purely for converting the guitar signal from a hex pickup to MIDI and doesn't make any sound itself.
You will need a a GK series pickup and 13 pin cable to use this interface.
