A vintage bass that stands out from modern basses!

The original EB-1, born in 1953 as Gibson's first electric bass, was subsequently reproduced for a short period from around 1969 to 1972. Only a little over 400 were produced at the time of the reproduction, making it an extremely rare model.

While records show that the reproduction EB-1 was shipped from 1970 onwards, this particular bass is believed to have been made in 1969 based on the serial number and pot date.

It features a violin-shaped mahogany body, a set-neck mahogany neck, and a humbucker pickup mounted only in the neck position.

Unlike Hofner violin basses, the EB-1 has a solid mahogany body.

In addition to its striking appearance, its sound is characterized by a ground-breaking bass that sounds like it's equipped with a subwoofer.

Unfortunately, the bar for playing upright is missing, but the original endpin is included.

The sound produced by the heavy 4.6kg body takes a different approach to modern electric basses, with a powerful bass sound that only this bass can produce.
