This Collings Baby I is a unique guitar. As a premium ¾ sized guitar, it sounds like an excellent full-sized instrument.  It is easy to play, whether your hands are large or small.  In appearance, the guitar also has the detail of the Collings OM1, only miniaturized. Having played other brands of guitars that are travel size – including Martin and Taylor, I think it’s just the world’s best ¾ sized guitar in production. It features a Sitka spruce top (sound board), “OM1 style” multi-ply rosette, and top purfling to match the inner rosette ring, Honduran mahogany neck, back, and sides with tortoiseshell style binding and pickguard, ebony fingerboard with 3 mother-of pearl dot inlays, bone nut and saddle, ebony bridge, ebony heel plate and strap button. There are a few faint scratches on the back, which are difficult to see.

It is said that this guitar is especially fantastic for song writing and travel because of its size; however, its surprising tone and volume surpasses “fantastic.”  This particular guitar was made in 2007, and is signed by Bill Collings on the label. It comes with a custom Hoffee case, specially ordered for this guitar.
