This model is the signature bass of Mitsuru Sutoh, one of Moon’s most prominent artists. Based on the JB-5 design, it incorporates Sutoh’s personal preferences while remaining accessible as a 5-string model, making it popular among a wide range of bassists.

The bass features an alder body, maple neck, and ebony fretboard. It has 21 frets and a 34-inch long scale, with a satin-finished neck for smooth playability. The body is slightly smaller and includes a heel cut for easier access to the high frets, resulting in excellent overall playability.

The pickups are Moon’s original OXALIS JB5, paired with a Bartolini XTCT preamp featuring a 3-band EQ for versatile tone shaping. A unique feature of the Sutoh model is the mini-switch located beside the control plate, which allows instant volume bypass. This lets the player quickly switch between fingerstyle and slap tones, making dynamic performance seamless.

Another signature feature is the finger rest mounted near the rear pickup, positioned directly under the low B string. This design provides a smooth, ergonomic playing experience, especially for intricate techniques.
