To provide us with a bold new take on this classic sound, Catalinabread swapped out the silicon for germanium, resulting in a smoother, warmer tone that still manages to capture the original Fuzzrite’s idiosyncratic voice. What’s more, the Fuzzrite Germanium adds a whole new element with the Vintage/Modern toggle modes, supplying both cutting old-school grit and thick, pummeling fuzz for a highly impressive range of sonic variation.
