GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP LES PAUL 1959 HISTORIC COLLECTION PREMIUM GRADE 2006
■ What is “PREMIUM GRADE”?
“Premium Grade” was a Japan-exclusive project planned by Yamano Gakki, produced only between 2004 and 2006.
Based on the Gibson Historic Collection, this project aimed to elevate the Les Paul beyond a musical instrument—to the level of a true work of art.
Only the finest materials available at the time were used throughout, including 7A-grade figured maple tops, specially ordered custom colors, and premium decorative details.

■ About This Guitar
Among the only three Trans Pink units ever produced, this guitar stands out as the most beautifully figured example.
The Trans Pink finish on this instrument possesses a deep, seductive, and complex hue unlike any other Les Paul labeled “Trans Pink.”
Rather than a standard catalog color, this shade was custom-ordered specifically for this Premium Grade project.
To enhance the visual contrast of the pink top, the fingerboard is made from exceptionally dark rosewood.
Beyond appearance, the wood is remarkably dense and rich in natural oils, reflecting the uncompromising material selection used throughout this build.

■ Tone
The moment you strike the strings, this guitar delivers a tone that fully lives up to its extraordinary appearance.

■ Final Thoughts
This sale is not due to financial necessity.
Guitars of this caliber are not truly “owned.”
Compared to their lifespan, we as players merely have the privilege of caring for them temporarily.
After many years and many Les Pauls, I believe it is time for this guitar to move on to its next caretaker—someone who truly understands and values it as an instrument, a work of art, and a historical piece.
