This is the only JetGlo black Rickenbacker 365 I have EVER seen, except for the re-issues.
This is an authentic one-owner guitar that has been closeted for decades. It has never been repaired. It shows no measurable fret wear at all, not even 0.001"! Buckle rash is almost non-existent. Minor paint flaws on the headstock and body face near the cats eye. Real close to never played dead mint, but not quite. On the high side of excellent. Unknown are the truss rods, as I could not get a tool on them to make the adjustment. They are well known for causing trouble when the wrong tool is used.
A bit of explanation on the model numbers; the 360 has OS old style and NS New Style. The OS has binding both on the front and on the rear, while NS has a radiused top edge and binding only on the rear. When a 360 is fitted with a vibrato and roller bridge it becomes a 365. So while the factory wrote inside this one 360-12-O(s) it is obviously not a 12 string or an OS! Confusing for sure.
The electronics are without salt build up you will see on other instruments. The potentiometers date from 1966 and 1967 (photos) and they are original. No noises come from any of the controls and they did not need to be cleaned.
On the fret wear, there is none. No signs of wear and no wear measured, 0.028" fret height in all locations.
The action is 5/64" on the treble side and 7/64" on the bass side.
On the rarity of the color, just see for yourself! The 360's and 365's are never black, save for a run of re-issues so watch the dates.
On the condition, I've pointed out the tiny paint defects. She is in as good a shape as you could ever hope to find! Thank you for your interest!

The guitar can be played at the shop in Mansfield, MA by appointment (secured by a credit card and license).
