The 0-28K was made by Martin from 1917 to 1931 probably as a result of the Hawaiian music craze that swept America. These concert bodied, 12-fret guitars had the style 28 appointments with the noted distinction of all Koa construction. This 1927 version is a steel-string braced beautiful example of these rare instruments. This has a replaced bridge that is a below belly that is hypothesized that was to possibly cover some area from the previous bridge. The bridge plate is small maple and looks like it is tucked under the braces, so possibly original. It has a few holes that were patched in the top and sides probably from some control knobs and/or input jack. There are some cleats on the top from a center seam separation and on the back although it is difficult to determine a crack on the back. A neck Set & fret work was done by Steven Kovacik and the action is superb as is the setup. The finish is original save for the plugs and the sound is lively and punchy. Comes with modern HSC.
