1987 vintage MIJ Strat with Kahler Spyder Tremolo system, excellent full sized electronics with dual orange drop caps and fender pickups. Here’s what I believe this is in total: I THINK this is a system 1 contemporary Strat that someone paired with the Kahler. Both Squier and Fender put out a small amount of guitars in this era with factory installed US kahler spyder trems BUT the posts on this factory set up are just a bit wide for this Spyder. I do distinctly remember a lot of players from this era complaining about the system 1 trem and trying to find replacements but it had a unique post spacing so it’s virtually impossible to find a replacement/swap. That said, while the posts are just wide and don’t sit cleanly in the knife edges, the trem does function as it should and pretty smoothly and does stay in tune and it is properly floated for bends both ways. The guitar itself is in good condition with minimal wear in the body and neck overall but the frets have been leveled a few times already and you might only be able to get one more level out of it before the next one requiring new frets to be installed… which may be 5 or 15 years from now depending on how you play, so… but it’s a great feeling instrument with pretty massive sustain and tone transfer. Pickguard has been painted black. Feels great sounds great. I have this priced so low that the kahler is about half the value of the guitar if you wanted to switch it back to system 1 you’d come out ahead. No trades, includes a gig bag.
