This is a super rare factory Purple 1973 Marshall 1959 Super Lead 100-watt Head, signed by Jim Marshall in 1989!
Early PCB Marshall ST-1 Board was fully overhauled by the Marshall factory in 2012. They fitted new smoothing caps and HT/Main switches were replaced by the factory along with a few resistors and minor parts. They also replaced the power tubes.
Most of the original parts removed by Marshall are still with this amp. The transformers and choke are original.
It had metal corner pieces fitted in the past, which we have removed. Overall the Purple Tolex is in good order and it has the original carry handle and feet.
The last owner purchased this head in 1980 and it has been gigged in its youth but has had little use for many years.
We have since thoroughly checked it over in our workshop, it is ready for a new lucky owner and it sounds absolutely amazing.
We also have a matching 1960B Factory Purple speaker cabinet with its original Celestion Greenbacks here for sale.
This amp can be switched to 110-115v for use in North America.
Featuring the classic four-input design, it offers the flexibility to jump channels for a wide range of tonal options from clean, articulate tones to the aggressive, saturated overdrive that defines rock’s heaviest riffs.
We are an appointment-only, store. All instruments are handled by Motomusic employees only.
We are always happy to consider quality part exchange instruments here.
