Please note - I have been using Apple converter connections to connect this device to my Mac that uses a USB C port. No problems! I am running macOS Catalina (10.15.7) as I understand Firewire is no longer supported in the CoreAudio after Catalina. Worth checking out.
I am not including the converter cables as I am still using them.
