Here is a beautiful 1965 Ludwig Jazz Festival 5x14 snare drum in Oyster Blue Pearl, serial #233599, in Very Good vintage condition.
I originally purchased this drum years ago with its matching Oyster Blue Pearl kit and am the second owner. The kit has since been sold, while the Jazz Festival remained in my personal collection. I have never gigged with it.
With its classic 5x14 proportions, eight-lug configuration, Keystone badge, and one of Ludwig’s most recognizable 1960s finishes, this is a particularly appealing example for the vintage Ludwig collector or for someone looking to complete a period Oyster Blue Pearl kit.

The Ludwig Jazz Festival is one of the defining wood-shell snare drums of the company’s 1960s era.
This example is finished in Oyster Blue Pearl and carries Keystone badge serial #233599. Published Ludwig serial-number references place that number comfortably within the 1965 production range.
The drum was originally purchased by us as part of a matching Oyster Blue Pearl drum set. We are the second owner. The rest of the kit has since moved on, but this snare remained in our collection because of its condition and overall presentation. It has never been gigged during our ownership.
The Oyster Blue Pearl wrap retains the distinctive flowing pattern and visual character that make this finish so closely associated with classic 1960s Ludwig drums. The combination of the wrap, Keystone badge, compact 5x14 shell, and eight-lug layout gives the drum an unmistakably period-correct appearance.
The Jazz Festival occupied a particularly important place in Ludwig’s catalog during this era. Its 5x14 wood-shell design and eight-lug layout made it a versatile alternative to Ludwig’s metal-shell snares, and original examples in desirable pearl finishes have become increasingly sought after by collectors and players alike.
This is an honest vintage drum rather than a restored showpiece, and we have tried to represent its condition conservatively.

The drum shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with age and careful ownership while presenting very well overall. It has not been gigged during our ownership.
