Sigma is a subsidiary of Martin guitars so only the highest quality products and construction. This bass sounds excellent either played with fingers on flat wound strings to mimic stand-up-bass or plugged-in and played with a pick on round wound strings banging out Violent Femme covers. The action is great and the intonation is perfect. It tunes up easy and stays in tune.
Most acoustic basses have subtle, or even dead, sounding low-E strings. Not here. This low-E is as resounding as the rest of the strings. Reminds me very much of the way the Martin B-1 sounds.
Comes with a strap and hard case. I also have extra strings. There are a couple minor surface imperfections. One tuning peg turns slightly rougher than the rest of them once tension is on it.
