I have listed this guitar twice before and then got cold feet both times and took it down. So if it looks familiar that might be why. However, at this point I truly can't justify it sitting unplayed based on other areas that funding could go towards around here.
I am also going to apologize upfront for what is probably going to sound like a lot of hyperbolic rambling, but I am digging a bit deep into what I thought were going to be "forever" items due to the market slowing down here a bit and hate letting some of this stuff go.
This is not just another Les Paul reissue. And I know models from music stores are hit-or-miss for some collectors, but this is a truly rare, limited-edition beauty with only 10 ever made in this finish.
- Sweetwater Exclusive: Hand-picked flamed maple top chosen directly from the Gibson factory.
- Legendary Tone: Highly-desirable CustomBucker pickups with Jimmy Page wiring for incredible sonic versatility.
- Killer finish combo: 3D flame edge to edge and top to bottom, stunning Tobacco/Bourbon Burst finish, Stinger on the headstock. Only 8 pounds 15 oz!
Includes original hardshell case and all case candy.
A True "Holy Grail Reissue" Les Paul
This guitar was a bit of a dream come true for me after owning many Les Pauls (and reissues) over the years. First and foremost it holds, plays, and sounds like a dream. It's always wild to me how unique each and every guitar can feel in the hands, and this one is right.
I don't like lipstick cherry bursts. Tobacco bursts can sometimes be too dark. "Bourbon" bursts can be all over the place. And the variety of flame tops is off the charts. To me this was just the perfect flame, 3D running end to end and in both directions. It is also the perfect bourbon/tobacco burst (to me). The pics probably even make it look just a tad bit darker around the edges and a little more "yellow/orange-ish" in the middle than it is in person. Very hard to capture in photo.
What I love about this piece as a collectible is that it isn't just another '59 reissue. Nor is it some crazy over-the-top alternative refin. It has all the classic appointments and look-and-feel (CustomBuckers, that burst, etc.), along with things that you only catch upon close inspection (Page wiring, stinger). Throw in this exact finish and the rarity of it all straight from the factory, and to me it doesn't get much better. The timing just is what it is that it is time to let someone else enjoy it.

Sweetwater Special Run of a legendary Les Paul
The original '59 Les Paul Standard guitar established the Les Paul as a, well, standard in solidbody electric guitars. For this Sweetwater Special Run, Sweetwater's guitar gurus worked with Gibson's Custom Shop to hand-select pick-of-the-litter Eastern maple for this guitar's breathtaking book-matched flame maple top. The axe is finished in a jaw-dropping Maple Flame Burst nitro finish that'll knock your socks off. Then, there's the stinger on the back of the headstock - a rare detail found on very few historical Les Pauls. All in, the Les Paul 1959 Reissue Sweetwater Special Run is one drool-worthy axe.
CustomBucker pickups deliver a staggering range of tone
Gibson Custom paid just as much attention to the Les Paul 1959 Reissue Sweetwater Special Run's electronics as they did to its aesthetics. This axe is fitted with a pair of CustomBuckers with push-pull volume pots that spilt the coils. There's also a phase switch on the lower tone knob. This is the setup made famous by Jimmy Page, and it gives you a staggering range of tone. These pups will power everything from spanky single-coil rhythms to fat, blistering leads. Just listen to any good live Led Zeppelin recording and you'll hear what these electronics can do.
Real-deal nitrocellulose lacquer finish
The Gibson Custom Les Paul 1959 Reissue Sweetwater Special Run wears a gorgeous nitrocellulose lacquer finish that gives the guitar a timeless, classic look. Nitro finishes - standard back in the '50s and '60s - are significantly thinner than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to "breathe." Nitro finishes not only look vintage-y wonderful; they also enhance the instrument's tonal qualities - so your Gibson Custom Les Paul 1959 Reissue Sweetwater Special Run sounds every bit as wicked as it looks!

re: SHIPPING / INSURANCE
If you would like expedited shipping or additional insurance options, please let me know as this is NOT included in this price. Shipping rates have really escalated lately and since I am not a dealer, I don't get the same rates they do. Please check my shop's shipping policies for further details.
re: RETURNS
I have noticed in recent years here and on other sites there seems to be an increase of buyers that purchase an item, practically invent some sort of problem or issue, and then hold the seller's feedback ransom in order to get a few bucks back for free. That is why I am making it perfectly clear in my listings that I do not accept returns. Please ask all questions up front (additional condition details, request more pictures, etc.). However, if you check my feedback both here and on a popular auction site ( jmarsh45 ) you will see that I have a perfect 100% feedback rating of over 1,100 across both platforms over the past 20+ years. I take my feedback and my gear very seriously even though I am a hobbyist. So please know that if there is a genuine problem, I am sure we can work something out. Just reach out before or after with any questions or issues.
